I am waiting for the weather to warm up a bit more so I can actually try cochineal for the very first time.
Does the Asociacion from Lanzarote actually sell their cochineal?
I find it always tricky with this ting of bringing dyes from all over the world. Sometimes one thinks of the carbon footprint, of the conditions in which people work and live... and refuse to sustain that. and then I think that for many that is they only way they actually get an income... just thinking outloud, tricky.
Maybe Im biased because Im southamerican! ahahaha

FlorcitaMarianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17070699825896478765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6266388920813232236.post-25673572262037611932010-04-16T21:45:09.422+01:002010-04-16T21:45:09.422+01:00Thank you very much for this good news, Helen.

Her indigo - unusually- is indigo sulphonate which you make by dissolving indigo in concentrated sulphuric acid. I do make it but getting hold of the acid may be a problem.
Thanks Isabella and Kathy for your comments.Helenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05597640040480685246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6266388920813232236.post-6951739359062756182010-04-16T11:54:30.733+01:002010-04-16T11:54:30.733+01:00wonderful post, gorgoeus colors-thank you for shar...wonderful post, gorgoeus colors-thank you for sharing your knowledge with uskathyinozarkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01644138355524729156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6266388920813232236.post-89722327491850207312010-04-16T09:56:59.081+01:002010-04-16T09:56:59.081+01:00Thanks for writing this up so beautifully, Helen. ...Thanks for writing this up so beautifully, Helen.
